About Ecology of the North Woods

In this slide/lecture program we will take an ecological look at Winter in the North Woods. Our adventure begins at the summit of Mount Washington where man has been able to adapt in order to survive some of the most severe weather ever recorded. We'll then descend into the forest and valley below to take a closer look at some of the wildlife that calls New Hampshire home. With its blanket of snow, winter is a wonderful time to investigate the northern forests and try to read the signatures written by our wildlife throughout their varied habitats. Take a closer look at the plants, birds and mammals and the strategies they adopt in order to inhabit northern New England with its changing seasons.
