About Pond Exploration

Tin Mountain Conservation Center Weekly Nature Walks
Pond Exploration
Thursday, July 19, and August 9, 10 AM -Noon

Join Tin Mountain Conservation Center for a historical hike to a quiet mountain pond nestled in the “back 40” of Tin Mountain Conservation Center’s 223 acres. We will discover the history of the area through the landscape by exploring stonewalls, cellar holes, and old sugar maples and red oak trees. Once we arrive at the pond there will be an opportunity to catch frogs, tadpoles, and macroinvertebrates such as dragonfly nymphs and caddis flies. Pond nets and binoculars included!

The hikes will be led by Tin Mountain Education Staff. The cost for the program is $20/person or $50/family. Children are welcome. Please bring water and a trail snack.

Participants will meet at the lower parking lot at Tin Mountain Conservation Center, 31 Rockwell Drive, (off of Tin Mine Road), in Jackson, NH .

Reservations and payment made be made by calling 447-6991. Cash only please for walk in participants.
