Another successful year for the Return of the Pumpkin People. Over 3,000 maps were given out with thousands of appreciative visitors taking the self-guided tour. One recent E-mail received from a visitor expressed
"We very much enjoyed our stay in Jackson earlier in October. It was so much fun visiting all the Pumpkin People. We have shown the pictures to many of our family and friends. Everyone had a different favorite. Now we are all wondering who the winners were. Will you be posting the results soon? We never tire of lookig at the pictures as they provide good memories of our wonderful experience there. Everyone did such a fabuous job with the Pumpkin People and that added so much to an already fantastic vacation. Thanks so much to all who participated."

Overall Business First Place Winner and the 2009 People's Choice Award goes to the Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club for their rendition of the “Adam’s Family”, 2nd place and very to overall goes to Fiona and the Inn at Ellis River, Most Creative use of Pumpkins and Gourds goes to Black Bear Realty for “Shhh... I’m Hunting Rabbits”, Most Entertaining and Must See goes to the Mt. Washington Auto Road & Great Glen Trails for their spectacular “Jackson 5”. Cutest Award goes to J-Town Deli & Country Store for “When Pigs Fly”, Funniest for the 2nd year in a row is Shannon Door Pub you have to go see and hear it, the award for the Pumpkin People having the most fun goes to the Bartlett Inn for “A day on the River”, Most Colorful goes to the Inn at Jackson for their “Blueman Pumpkin Group” Most Beautiful Pumpkin People goes to Debony Healthy Hair & Spa, An American Tribute goes to Flossie’s General Store, and Most Precious goes to Badger Realty. Overall Residence First Place Winner goes to DD Warren and Cutest goes to Janet Green. First Place Student goes to the Jackson Grammar School for their spectacular “Art Museum” to which entry was free.
Most if not all Pumpkin People have left the area but they assured me we will see them again next year in 2010. Keep your eyes on our website for future information regarding these wild and zany characters of pumpkin.
