In addition to rigorous recycling and composting programs and locavore menu planning, SmartStrand® carpeting, made in part with naturally occurring sugars insures that 37 percent of the Bernerhof’s carpeting fibers are made from renewable resources instead of the petroleum-based ingredients found in most other carpets. The Daltile San Michel™ tiles used in newly designed private baths are made of more than 50 percent pre-consumer recycled materials to promote sustainable design. While sustainable is crucial, no corners have been cut to insure elegant yet affordable accommodations at the Bernerhof Inn.
